Situé sur le site de Pétionville Club, le seul golf club en Haïti est géré par un nombre restreint de fanatiques. Conçu pour plaire aux amateurs les plus exigeants, ce golf de 9 trous est une incitation pour découvrir ce jeu.  Quelques mois plus tôt, le même terrain de golf est une petite ville avec un hôpital qui a livré quinze bébés par jour pendant trois années consécutives.   C’est une vieille histoire. LATIN AMERICA AMATEUR Player From Haiti Exemplifies Spirit of LAAC January 17, 2015 | Buenos Aires, Argentina By Ron Driscoll, USGA Haiti's Gerald Mathias warmed the hearts of LAAC competitors. (LAAC) ----------------------------- Sometimes a championship experience – even one as prestigious as the inaugural Latin America Amateur – cannot be measured in strokes taken, or order of finish. Gerald Mathias, of Haiti, is 57 years old and the lone competitor in the LAAC field from his country. He missed the 36-hole cut, but the fact that he was able to play in the competition is easily the most remarkable story of the week. Until this week, Mathias had never been away from Haiti, never flown on a plane – indeed, he had never played a par-5 hole in his life. “Gerald is the best player on the island; he won our competition to play in the Caribbean Amateur in April,” said D.J.
